Public Relations

In this class we will be posting to our blogs about current events that are taking place around the world. We will be taking information from other sources while giving credit to them but adding our own spin to it. We will also be able to analyze information and interpret it to others in a way that makes sense. Ultimately in the end i want to become a better researcher and be able to critically analyze political articles to a level of my understanding.

What is Newsjacking?
News Jacking is the art of how to inject your ideas into a breaking news story and generate tons of attention for your business. In other words, you will take someones information, but still give them credit. After you do that you will add your own style to the information you just gathered to now make it your own.

Is Caitlyn Jenner the wrong honoree for ESPYs' courage award?

While this may be old to many. there is still controversy when it comes to this question. Do you believe Caitlyn Jenner should have won the ESPY's courage award? As said by an ESPN spokesperson, "The Arthur Ashe Courage Award is meant to honor individuals whose contributions transcend sports through courageous action." Many know that Bruce Jenner, now Caitlyn Jenner made the transformation from a male to a female and the world went crazy. Soon she was named the winner of this award over many others. One possible candidate for the Ashe honor who was passed over in favor of Jenner was Lauren Hill. The 19-year-old freshman from Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati battled an inoperable brain tumor to achieve her dream of playing college basketball, while also helping to raise money for cancer research. She died in April. Another often cited is Noah Galloway, an Iraqi war veteran who lost two limbs but has continued to enter competitions, including an inspiring run on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." My opinion on this is that those two other nominee's are far more courageous than what the winner went through.
